some text Children’s program LOST TREASURE HUNT nominated for Outstanding New Approaches and Outstanding Writing

BOSTON (APRIL 2, 2015) –The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) honored American Public Television’s (APT) innovative children’s program LOST TREASURE HUNT with two Daytime Emmy nominations.

Nominated for “Outstanding New Approaches” and “Outstanding Writing,” LOST TREASURE HUNT is a modern-day animated adventure which brings history alive for kids in an engaging way. Created by the award-winning animators behind Shrek, The Iron Giant and Frozen, the program applies feature-style storytelling to create a compelling and educational experience for elementary- and middle-school students. Simultaneously employing a new style of digital animation while retaining the quality and expressiveness of traditional animation, the 30-minute program features beautifully designed imagery and authentic period details. To ensure accuracy and educational relevance, all content was vetted by nationally recognized educators, educational experts and Columbus scholars.

The Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented on April 26, 2015. The Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards gala, which honors the more than 65 craft categories behind the many shows that grace the Daytime genre, will be held at the Universal Hilton on April 24, 2015.

LOST TREASURE HUNT is distributed by Boston-based APT and broadcast nationally on public television stations. About LOST TREASURE HUNT:
Based on an original story by Matt Davis (DreamWorks and Sony) and presented by KRCB, LOST TREASURE HUNT is a fast-moving adventure that combines high-caliber history with engaging characters and plot twists that will challenge anyone who thinks history is not relevant or exciting. In addition to a successful Kickstarter campaign, funding for this series was provided by The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as an opportunity to promote history for children and also reach “tweens” and other underserved age groups.
